![]() The story finally takes off in a meaningful way when you leave Lost Lake and journey south to the Diamond Lake and Wizard Island encampments. This adds some much-needed complexity and reason to the whole thing. Mike is a good guy stuck in a bad situation-a true diplomat who has to make the tough calls but ultimately wants everyone to get along. It gets better when you get to Iron Mike’s camp, even if only marginally, with more in-depth conversations and interactions happening between Mike and Deacon. But even then it’s filled with fluff-there are so few meaningful moments in between the repetitive quests, it honestly gets hard to keep playing at some points. At that point, you have something to care about. The first few hours of the game lack meaning-it’s not until you learn that Sarah may be alive that the real quest starts. You start the game by running errands for these (mostly unlikable) camp leaders with no real goals outside of just that. In return, he builds trust with these camps and gets “camp credits” (the in-game currency) to buy things. Deek is a drifter-that is, he’s not a part of any particular camp-so he runs errands and does missions for surrounding camps. If you’re not familiar with the story of Days Gone (which, if you’re reading this, you really should be, because there are significant spoilers throughout), it starts with Deacon trying to deal with the death of his wife, Sarah. It’s the other characters that leave a lot to be desired-especially early on. Sure, Deek (and by some extension, his best friend Boozer) is a relatable, (mostly) likable character, and his quest is easily the most meaningful part of the game. It isn’t just these characters that make up the stories, though-it’s the other characters they meet along the way, how they interact with them, and the relationships built throughout the journey of the game. In God of War (2018), Kratos showed a side we’ve never seen before and is such an incredibly dynamic, multi-faceted character who makes you feel. In Horizon: Zero Dawn, I cared about Aloy’s quest-I wanted her to find the answers she was so desperately seeking. ![]() ![]() A Great Story Can Make a Great Game…Ī great game makes players care genuinely about the characters and what they’re going through-I love Joel and Ellie ( The Last of Us) on what feels like a personal level. Photomatix has got a great set of tools to be able to do that, like they've recently included stuff for real estate photography and all that kind of stuff, which I think is great, kudos to them for that, but one of the other things that I think that they do is they really do a good artistic impression, which is kinda where I like to play when I'm doing stuff. When I was working inside of Lightroom, I was working in a very naturalistic point of view, like I wanted something to just look somewhat normal. When I worked inside of Lightroom, and we'll come back and we'll do a couple more inside of Lightroom so that you could see the difference. So, once I have this set, the output format's gonna be 16-bit, that's fine, I'm gonna click on Export. In the previous class, we talked about smart collections and how to be able to use smart collections for stuff. That way, whatever the name of the file is, it'll always say -HDR. Sometimes, it's really hard for me to find the file that I need, so what I usually do is I add a suffix called HDR. Now, from here, I'll go ahead and I'll re-import back into the Lightroom library, and this is the one part that I hate. I have a much better tool inside of Lightroom to be able to do that. So, I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna take care of that there. I could always use noise reduction inside of Lightroom, it's much better. ![]() Do I want to reduce noise? Never, really, because I could always do this later. Do I want to see the dialog box to be able to remove some ghosts? Yes, that'd be a pretty good idea, right? Just in case there was something that was messed up. Right? I could probably distort it or puppet warp it or do something to change it. Do you want me to crop anything? No, 'cause I might want to be able to do that later. Now you'll see here that it says, all right, in order for you to be able to do this, what do you want to do? Do you want to align your images? So if I find a problem with the tripod, do you want to fix that already? Yes, please. Ush all of the information out and run it into Photomatix Pro. All right, so inside of here, I'm gonna select Photomatix Pro from the list and what that will do is it'll take all of this information and it's gonna p. (yes this part is my fault): but minor water damage in the past has made the left fan in the Macbook not function. You can even force the laptop to use integrated graphics when you're trying to conserve battery power. Because of the autimatic switching of the graphics, the non integrated graphics card is used 100% of the time a monitor is plugged in, and the problem is, this makes it super likely that my fans will spin up a bunch with just the most basic of apps open (terminal mostly, and chrome, thats pretty much it).
